Adrift is an important story, and a really exciting project for Action Transport Theatre.

The original idea was born back in 2010, when writer Beverly Hancock-Smith penned a version of the short play for our Ten Tiny Plays project. ATT Artistic Director Nina Hajiyianni had wanted to further develop the piece ever since.

That opportunity came in 2017 when Adrift was commissioned by Big Imaginations as a new work for audiences aged 8-11, which will be shared as part of their Festival of Theatre for Children and Families in autumn 2017.

We have had the great privilege of collaborating with pupils and teachers from St. Bernards RC Primary School here in Ellesmere Port, who have helped enormously in developing the play. We'll continue our partnership with St. Bernards into 2018 as Adrift is further developed.

Check out this behind-the-scenes peek into the research and development process behind the play.
