Transforming Whitby Hall into a world class cultural hub for Ellesmere Port

On March 23rd, Action Transport Theatre received the news that our bid to the Northern Cultural Regeneration Fund was not successful. Whilst this is disappointing news for the proposed capital programme for Whitby Hall, we remain positive and extremely confident that we will see our ambitious project through to completion.

Our Whitby Hall transformation project was one of 11 bids within the highly competitive DCMS funding scheme and we were delighted to be put forward by the Cheshire and Warrington LEP as the Cheshire bid, with strong support from Cheshire West and Chester Council

We’d like to take this opportunity, to thank all of our participants, audiences, stakeholders and supporters including the 1500 plus (and counting) individuals who have added their name to our campaign. We will be looking at other ways to move the project forward in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester, so that Ellesmere Port - and children and young people as a priority - has the world class arts centre and creative hub it deserves.
